Portugal (in 30 minutes)

I made the decision last minute to join my mate Joel over in Portugal on Wednesday evening after a couple of jars. I ummed and arghed about it for ages, but finally decided that I should go. It’s the end of the summer, i haven’t had a lot of chances to surf, weather had been quite poor in London, I’ve always intended on going to Portugal, girlfriend was working late nights on a film set and I had the time already booked off. It all seemed to make sense.

Portugal (in 5 mins)

Flew into Porto Sunday night with no troubles. Caught the train into the city, then a taxi to meet Joel. He and friend Rhys had already been celebrating the Australian win of international under water hockey against SA. So they were, ‘merry’.

Portugal

I’ve attempted to go so many times. I’ve failed always. I’d planned to go there a couple times with someone who I was with for a bit, but it never worked out. I had even planned to go there earlier this summer but it didn’t work out.

But old trusty Australia pulled out a villa in Portugal and invited me on an epic mirrorball suit surf-tour of a trendy tweed and an agressive nutmeg library coat journey… WTF are you talking about marksy?

HP touchpad sells out

There was some controversy as to what happened with HPs webos, their latest device challenging the iPad, HP touchpad has died a death before even shipping.

Today, someone from Dixons announced the touchpad will sell for £89, usually selling for £349.

At just past 6pm gmt, dixons website indeed reflected that price for the 16gb, however shortly after, their site ground to a halt.

Those lucky enough will have themselves a cheap portable web browser and picture frame, while other keen consumers will be able to puck it up from Currys or PC World in the morning for the same price. While stocks last.

Their denote is that the OS is and app storewill not continue, device cannot compete with the iPad so are quickly throwing in the towel, hence the massive price cut. They said they will continue to support webOS.

Reverse scroll (make scrolling on SL like Lion)

Have you upgraded to OS X Lion at home, but your work still is keeping you on OS X Snow Leopard? And are you getting confused about which way your scroller works??

Ever since the scroller was invented in 1990something, you would scroll down to move the page up, revealing the lower part of the page.

Digital Color Meter OS X.7 Lion [sucks]

For what it’s worth, Apple have stripped back DCM utility in their new OS. WTF!? I used that all the time, now I can’t copy colour, hold colour or pick in HEX?!

A chap called Matt Patenaude has made a small app called Colors which takes care of all the crap Apple failed to care about. Thanks Matt.

BMW F650gs

I remember my father saying to me once, that if I feel I really want something, wait awhile and see if you still want it. If you do, then at least I’ve thought about it. This was to help my impulse buying I had when I was younger. At the time I thought it was just self-imposed punishment to make buying it all the more worth while.

Tim & Eric explain digestive problems

I went to see Tim & Eric live at Leicester Square Theatre with Ali. A sense of humor my mother would not agree is reflective of my age.

Xcode now free

Xcode development platform for Mac and iOS was originally free, which came with the OS X install disc.

Then, a couple of months back when the AppStore was released by Apple, they started charging for it, which struck a few bad chords with developers (looking at you Bacon). The download price was something like £5.
