One of the new features of iOS4 is custom wallpaper on the home screens. This idea came from the iPad, which on the iPad looks amazing. This is because there is more screen real estate. On the iPhone however, the icons are much closer together and it starts to look a bit cluttered.
I’ve found that reverting back to black is actually quite visually appealing.
Also, I’ve made a custom logon type lock screen. It can show your avatar, your name and “if found” details.
Download the PSD package

Just found this awesome menu bar tool which lets you quickly swap the graphics card on your Macbook Pro. It lets you swap say from onboard Intel graphics to dedicated nVidia, or vice versa.

It should work with most Macbook Pro.

I’ve found this really handy jQuery plugin for TextMate.
It’s originally written by kswedberg on github, but i’ve compiled it and zipped it for ease of use.

When you plug in a mouse to a Macbook/Pro/Air sometimes you want to ignore the trackpad because, well, you have an external mouse and don’t want to flick around with the trackpad.
Apple have changed this from being in either Mouse/Trackpad under System Preferences, to being in Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad.
Great stuff, Apple.

Whaaaaat? Yes, that’s right. A new series of Futurama airs in the States tonight (9pm) on Comedy Central. So it should be turning up on iTunes or bit torrent soon.
Also today is the day iPhone 4 should be arriving. There’s such a demand for them that shipping has been pushed back to 3 weeks.

Recently I’ve been seeing some weird things happening with Safari & Google. Lately, gMaps is very slow and takes up a lot of process. Streetview is horrible in Safari 5. gAnalytics doesn’t display content correctly.
I’ve been using Chrome for each thing i think is dodgy and each time I’ve been correct.
Now I don’t think it’s to do with Webkit, i think it’s to do with the JS rendering system. Both Chrome and Safari use completely different JS renderers however share the same markup renderer.

Now that all UK mobile providers are capping all unlimited data plans to <1gb, this data monitor might be useful. And it's pretty good looking too.

Looks like Google have just recently added video support for the Mac. Unless I’ve been under a rock for a while, this is news to me.
Hopefully they’ll open up the API and allows developers like Adium to use gVideo or something.
