New idea in 3D desktop

Since the revolution of OS X’s openGL window managment, dudes have been trying to figure out a new way to improve on the old 2d desktop style.

There was one a couple years ago, made by Sun Microsystems built on Java, but kinda looked luggish and ghey.

This new one uses mouse/pointer actions to perform tricks such as creating a pile from a mess of files, organise by type, name, date etc. Fan out pile is really cool.

Would be neat to have a go, but it may become annoying and hardly usable like Tiger’s “Dashboard”… Maybe it would change the way we desktop?
